Politics and the Economy articles have a long tradition on this website stemming back to 2008. They have taken many forms but mainly serve as a day-by-day overview of the news every month.
Yet, as can be seen on nearly every Politics and the Economy article created, they often suffer from several problems. Firstly, they fail to be created. Secondly, they fail to be updated. Thirdly, they fail to provide in-depth coverage.
To combat this, I believe we must do several things. Firstly, we must have a system in place so that such pages can be created far in advance. Secondly, we must create a community that will update it regularly. Thirdly, we must remove the need for it be a place for people to get their news, but instead to get their analysis of it.
Some of the tasks that face us are small, such as changing attitudes, whereas others require much more time, such as building a community. However the passionate nature of politics at the moment assures me that we are able to combat even the greatest of challenges.
I have a few ideas that I will implement in February. I will keep this thread updated. If others have suggestions I'd love to hear them.
