David Cameron is was the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and leader of the Conservative party. He entered office on 11 May 2010, leading the Tories with the Liberal Democrats in a coalition. Then in 2015 he led the party to a majority. Cameron has been PM for Witney since 2001.

Early Life Edit

David William Donald Cameron was born 9 October 1966 to stockbroker Ian Donald Cameron and a justice of peace Mary Mount. He was educated at Eton College and graduated at Oxford with a degree in politics, philosophy and economics.

Political Career Edit

He worked at the Conservative Party Research Department and as a special adviser to the Chancellor of the Exchequer and the Home Secretary. During his time in Parliament he held many positions, such as Shadow Deputy Leader of the House of Commons and Front Bench Spokesman for Local Government Finance.

David was elected as Conservative Leader in 2005 as he had a younger image. In 2010, when no party had enough seats for a majority, Cameron entered a coalition with the Liberal Democrats. At the age of 43, he became the youngest prime minister since Lord Liverpool in 1812.

In 2015, he was re-elected as PM with a majority of 330 seats.

In 2016, after the EU Referendum, Mr Cameron resigned as Prime Minister and party leader as he felt that somebody else should conduct the Brexit negotiations. He later went on to resign as an MP altogether.

Personal Life Edit

Cameron is married to Samantha Gwendoline Sheffield and had four children with her. His eldest son, Ivan Reginald Ian Cameron, died at age 6.
